Spirits and elements have a preference when it comes to incense. They actually appreciate certain types of incense, particularly those that are made by monks with pujas, as it is believed to bring them good merits when they inhale the scent of the burnt incense. (This is a simplified explanation, as the process is more complex) Offering incense in our homes is considered helpful because it is believed to appease the spirits/elements, rather than repel them, which could potentially lead to negative consequences.
Preferred Incense:
– There are specific types of incense that they dislike. Two examples of such incense are kamanyang and lemon grass.
Kamanyang:
– Kamanyang is often used in Catholic churches and is believed to have the ability to remove negativities from a space. However, it is said that spirits/elements do not favor kamanyang and find its presence undesirable.
Lemon Grass:
– Another incense that is believed to be disliked by spirits/elements is lemon grass. It is said that lemon grass has the ability to harm or wound them.
